Abu Dhabi, July 6, 2010

Hyder Consulting, a multi-national advisory and design consultancy, has appointed Rupert Kruger as managing director for its utilities and environment business sector in the Middle East.

Kruger has 18 years experience working in a variety of roles within the water and environment sector in the UK, USA and Middle East. He specialises in wastewater treatment for industrial, municipal and privatised utilities and has a broad knowledge of the policies and regulations that help shape the international water sector.

Kruger will oversee the development and delivery of design, supervision and advisory services in the utilities and environment sector across the Middle East region, building on client relationships and service that Hyder has cultivated over the last four decades, a statement said.

“I am very pleased to welcome Rupert on board,” said Wael Allan, regional managing director of Hyder Consulting Middle East Limited.

“I am confident that he will lead the utilities and environment sector to deliver sustainable growth in these challenging times by understanding what excellence means to our clients and continuing to secure major opportunities that exist across the region.”

Kruger said: “Hyder has a fantastic history of providing the highest caliber engineering and advisory services across the Middle East. I look forward to working with our clients to help address the significant and exciting challenges that lie ahead with infrastructure development.”
