UAE Exchange, Cleartrip launch pre-paid travel card
DUBAI, December 11, 2017
UAE Exchange, a leading global payment solutions brand, has partnered with Cleartrip, a top online travel company in the Middle East, for a co-branded prepaid travel card offered by UAE Exchange.
The gocash Cleartrip co-branded ‘many currencies, one card’ card is powered by Mastercard, a leading technology company in the global payments industry.
UAE Exchange also announced the launch of a new feature-rich mobile app for gocash customers.
Travellers with the gocash Cleartrip card can enjoy greater value-added benefits like exclusive offers and discounts when booking through Cleartrip.ae website and mobile app, earn gocash Wacao Reward points as well as avail exchange rate lock facility on the card and free travel insurance from UAE Exchange.
As for the gocash app, customers can tap their way to enjoy the various gocash services while on the move and no longer depend on branch visits, calling customer care representatives, or finding a computer to access their card and the different currency holders or wallets.
User-friendly in nature, the app will facilitate quick exchange rate calculations, moving currencies from one wallet to another, creating or deleting of currency wallets, changing priority of currency usage, service requests, activation and deactivation of online transactions, notifications on special offers, seamless registration, etc. Available in both iOS and Android, customers of UAE Exchange too can sign up for the gocash app by registering with their Emirates ID.
Promoth Manghat, chief executive officer of UAE Exchange Group, said: “Our association with Mastercard and Cleartrip has always meant the onset of innovative solutions to enhance customer experience. We attempt to deliver exceptional convenience and value to customers, creating memorable experiences.”
“With the gocash Cleartrip card, we believe travellers can enjoy greater convenience, security and other benefits. Our earlier gocash initiative, the contactless payment via wearable devices, introduced this year, provided customers with a quick and convenient mode of payment.
“Our digital ambitions found an impetus through the gocash mobile app, where customers can be in control of spends, manage money across currency wallets in the app and perform several other activities independently. We are delighted at the launch of the two new offerings, which not only reinforce our commitment to going cashless but also bring convenience and rewards to customers every time they use gocash,” added Manghat.
“Our relationship with UAE Exchange dates back to the time when we launched the first Smart Pay Payroll card in the UAE in 2008. UAE Exchange, in fact, is the first exchange house in the world to receive the Mastercard Principal Membership. The core strategy of both the organisations has always revolved around providing customers with seamless solutions, which is why we believe that this co-branded card will truly augment the travel experience. We also believe that the gocash card will enable people to move from transacting in physical cash and embrace a digital approach to payments,” said Girish Nanda, general manager, UAE, Mastercard.
“The demand for travel-focused prepaid cards has been on the rise in the UAE as well as the wider region, owing to a number of factors such as lower risk of frauds, greater control on spending, increased flexibility and cost-effectiveness. The launch of the gocash Cleartrip card comes as part of our commitment to catering to the need for this increasingly popular payment solution while making travel journeys for our users even more convenient, and extending this level of ease beyond just booking flights and hotels,” said Sameer Bagul, EVP and managing director - Middle East, Cleartrip. - TradeArabia News Service
