The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) discussed the periodic report of the Bank's performance during the last quarter of 2009 at its Board meeting on Wednesday.

Mohammed Qassim Fakhro, chairman of the CBB Board, presided over the meeting and reviewed the financial performance of the bank for the period ended November 30, 2009.

The board discussed the report prepared by the CBB on the latest developments in the financial sector for the period leading to November 2009.

The Board later adopted the budget for the CBB in 2010 and reviewed the report of the audit committee, which includes the development of the work which has been implemented by the internal audit of the bank during the second half of this year.

The CBB Board also gave approval to the new cheque imaging system, which is expected to be implemented next year.-TradeArabia News Service
