GII names director general

Gulf Insurance Institute (GII) has appointed Wendy Maddison as its first director general.
Maddison will head up the GII which will be based in prestigious Amwaj Islands and serve the Gulf region.
“GII aims to be the leading centre of excellence for training, developing and promoting the profession of conventional and Islamic insurance practice in the Gulf, and will assist the region in transforming and ensuring sustainability in insurance and financial services according to international standards, through the development of its human capital,” said GII chairman Qassim Fakhroo.
Maddison brings with her over 20 years of experience in the financial services sector. Her last position was as executive manager of the Bankers’ Society of Bahrain. She holds an MA in Social Sciences, a BSc in Business Management and is a qualified teacher with the London Chamber of Commerce & Industry, UK. – TradeArabia News Service
