WPC Energy welcomes Chad as new member, strengthening African representation

WPC Energy has welcomed Chad into its global membership, marking a step towards strengthening its engagement with African oil-producing nations and supporting international cooperation in the energy sector.

The organisation said Chad’s membership reflects the country’s ambitions to expand its energy sector, attract international investment and diversify its economy, while contributing its expertise in responsible resource development and long-term energy growth.

Fatimé Haram Acyl, Chad’s Minister of Petroleum, Mines and Geology, said: "WPC Energy membership represents an important milestone in our national policy to enhance the value of our energy resources and reflects our commitment to actively contribute to international initiatives that foster a responsible and innovative energy sector. By joining this leading international organisation, Chad will benefit from enhanced cooperation, knowledge sharing, investment opportunities and greater promotion of national expertise on the global stage."

WPC Energy President Pedro Miras said: "We are delighted to welcome the Republic of Chad to WPC Energy. Chad's commitment to developing its energy resources responsibly, while advancing economic diversification and sustainable growth, aligns strongly with our core mission to promote dialogue, cooperation and knowledge exchange across the global energy community.
