Masar Group seals partnership with Bahrain's Captain’s Club

Masar Group, a subsidiary of Bahrain Maritime and Logistics Holding Company, has partnered with The Captain’s Club to officially launch the Kingdom of Bahrain’s first annual membership boat club, marking a new milestone in the development of the Kingdom’s marine leisure sector.

The partnership was announced at the fourth edition of Gateway Gulf event being held at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay.

The launch follows a strategic partnership agreement signed between Masar Group and The Captain’s Club on the sidelines of the Gateway Gulf Forum in November 2025. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to introducing innovative maritime services, broadening access to recreational boating, and supporting the continued development of Bahrain’s tourism offering.

The Captain’s Club introduces an alternative to traditional boat ownership, enabling members to access and captain a range of recreational boats following specialised training, without the financial and operational responsibilities associated with owning a vessel.

The annual membership model is designed to make boating more accessible while offering a structured and professionally supported marine leisure experience.

Speaking on the occasion, Shaikh Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chairman of Bahrain Maritime and Logistics Holding Company, said: "The launch of Bahrain’s first annual membership boat club represents a valuable addition to the Kingdom’s maritime and tourism sectors. Initiatives of this nature support the development of specialised services, encourage greater utilisation of Bahrain’s marine assets, and contribute to the diversification of the national economy."

"Through strategic partnerships and innovative service offerings, we remain committed to strengthening Bahrain’s position as a destination for marine leisure and tourism," he stated.

Eng. Yusuf Khalifa Al Manea, the Chief Executive Officer of Masar Group and Chairman of The Captain’s Club – Bahrain, said this launch reflects its commitment to developing innovative maritime and leisure services that respond to evolving customer preferences and broaden access to marine experiences.

"Through our partnership with The Captain’s Club, we are introducing a membership model that combines access to a diverse fleet with specialised training and operational support. This initiative forms part of our wider efforts to develop Bahrain’s maritime and tourism offering through strategic partnerships and customer-focused services," he noted.

Zaid Shouli, the CEO and Managing Partner of The Captain’s Club, said: "Our entry into Bahrain marks an important milestone in our regional expansion. Through our partnership with Masar Group, we are bringing our established membership model and operational expertise to a market with significant potential for marine leisure. We look forward to contributing to the development of Bahrain’s boating community and delivering an accessible, professionally supported experience for members."

Established in 2014, The Captain’s Club brings more than a decade of regional experience and operates a fleet of over 300 boats, including fishing boats, speedboats, water sports boats, sailboats and cabin cruisers.

Its membership model provides an alternative to conventional ownership by reducing the maintenance, operating costs and other responsibilities associated with owning a vessel.-TradeArabia News Service
