LiqTech International will supply its QureFlow QF-6 ceramic membrane filtration system to Water Works Industrial Services (WWIS) for its new facility in Freeport, Texas.

The system is expected to recover more than 95% of incoming wastewater for reuse as wash water, reducing freshwater consumption and wastewater disposal volumes.

WWIS cleans industrial equipment across the Texas Gulf Coast, generating wastewater containing contaminants such as scale, oil residue and suspended solids.

The QF-6 is expected to process 150–200 US gallons per minute, although WWIS has not yet established its average feed rate.

Treated water will be returned directly to the washing process, while solids removal is expected to reduce nozzle-clogging risks.

The project expands LiqTech’s standardised QureFlow platform into industrial wastewater applications and builds on WWIS’s experience with ceramic ultrafiltration at its Louisiana facility.

By returning treated water to our washing operations, we expect to reduce our freshwater requirements and the amount of wastewater we need to dispose of, while reducing the risk of solids blocking our wash nozzles.”
