Bahrain’s Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) has announced that AtkinsRéalis Major Projects and Energoprojekt Entel A.D. Beogradhave submitted consultancy services to develop the electricity transmission network for the Khalifa City Housing Project.

The consultancy contract covers the establishment of two new 66-kilovolt (kV) substations to support electricity supply to the strategic housing development, which is expected to be ready for occupancy between 2028 and 2030, said the Bahrain Tenders in its notification.

The scope of work includes assessing existing systems, preparing designs and plans, supporting tendering and procurement, managing contracts and supervising construction and implementation.

For the project, AtkinsRéalis Major Projects (Bahrain branch) had submitted a bid worth BD493,680 ($1.31 million), Energoprojekt Entel A.D. Beograd (Bahrain branch), submitted a bid worth BD471,240, its submission was listed as suspended.

The tender was issued by EWA’s Planning and Studies department through an international selected-invitation process.
