ADNEC Group, a Modon company, has published its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, marking its 10th consecutive year of reporting and highlighting record economic contribution alongside progress on emissions and resource efficiency.
The group contributed AED 9.2 billion ($2.5 billion) in
Gross Value Added to the UAE economy in 2025, supported more than 70,000 jobs
and welcomed over 6.3 million visitors to more than 1,149 events across its
global venues.
At the same time, ADNEC reduced its absolute greenhouse gas
emissions, cut carbon intensity per employee by 39% and lowered water intensity
per visitor by 47%.
Humaid Al Dhaheri, Group CEO of ADNEC Group, said: “2025
marked another major step forward in our commitment to responsible growth and
long-term value creation. We delivered our highest-ever economic contribution
while reducing our absolute emissions, clear proof that sustainability and
growth strengthen one another. With all of UAE based venues now powered by
clean energy, provided by EWEC,and with our updated Net Zero roadmap in place,
we look ahead with confidence to accelerating our positive impact and
supporting the UAE's vision for a resilient, diversified and low-carbon
future.”
ADNEC also expanded its clean energy initiatives through a
new agreement with Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) covering ADNEC
Centre Al Ain.
The agreement extends the use of clean electricity verified
through International Renewable Energy Certificates issued by the Abu Dhabi
Department of Energy.
Development also progressed on a 5 MWp rooftop solar system
at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.
The project is expected to generate around 8.57 million kWh
annually and meet nearly 30% of the venue’s electricity demand.
On social impact, ADNEC launched its Social Impact Strategy
and Toolkit, creating a measurable framework covering employment, SME
participation, knowledge transfer, inclusion and community access.
The group’s first social impact report is scheduled for
publication from 2026.
ADNEC’s updated Decarbonisation Roadmap targets net zero
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2030 and full net zero across all scopes by
2045, five years ahead of the UAE’s national target.
The group’s 2025 sustainability progress was recognised
through the UAE Year of Sustainability “Plan to Action” Seal, the Majra UAE
Impact Seal Gold Tier, four Gulf Sustainability Awards and ICCA recognition of
ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi as a “Model Venue for Sustainable Business Events.” -TradeArabia News Service
