Royal Jordanian Airlines has launched a new direct service between Abu Dhabi and Aqaba, strengthening air connectivity between the UAE and Jordan and providing travellers with easier access to the kingdom’s Red Sea coast and key tourist destinations.

The airline announced the new route at a special event in Dubai, where it also introduced ExploRJordan, a tourism campaign showcasing Jordan’s diverse attractions, including historical and cultural sites, nature, adventure, beaches and leisure experiences.

Royal Jordanian said its UAE-Jordan network now operates nearly 40 direct flights a week. The network includes 21 weekly services between Dubai and Amman, seven between Sharjah and Amman, nine between Abu Dhabi and Amman, and two weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and Aqaba.

The new Abu Dhabi-Aqaba service offers travellers direct access to one of southern Jordan’s leading tourism destinations and a gateway to the country’s Golden Triangle of Aqaba, Petra and Wadi Rum.

Karim Makhlouf, Chief Commercial Officer of Royal Jordanian Airlines, said the expanded connectivity gives travellers greater flexibility to explore Jordan, either through Amman or by flying directly to Aqaba and the Red Sea.

He said the ExploRJordan campaign aims to encourage visitors to look beyond Jordan’s traditional landmarks and discover the country’s wider range of tourism experiences.

The Dubai event also highlighted destinations including the Dead Sea and Amman, alongside the Golden Triangle.

Royal Jordanian said the new service is part of its broader efforts to expand its regional network and strengthen connectivity with key international markets, while supporting Jordan’s position as a major tourism destination.

The airline is also continuing to expand its network, modernise its fleet and enhance the passenger experience as it seeks to strengthen its position as a leading carrier for travellers to and from Jordan. -TradeArabia News Service
