Mammoet secures industry-first ISO 19443 certification for nuclear sector

Mammoet has become the first company in the heavy lifting and transport industry to achieve ISO 19443 certification, strengthening its position in the nuclear power sector as demand grows for next-generation reactor projects.

The international standard, introduced in 2018, provides a quality management framework specifically for organisations operating in the nuclear power industry.

It covers areas including operations, sales, procurement and human resources.

Mammoet, which already holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications, spent three years preparing for the ISO 19443 audit.

The assessment examined the company’s culture, processes, training, engineering and health-and-safety practices.

The certification will be awarded by DNV France, the third-party certification body for ISO 19443.

Davide Andreani, Managing Director of Mammoet Europe projects, said: “As a market leader, it is very important for us to always be at the forefront of our industry. Up to now, ISO 19443 has been utilized mainly by manufacturers in the nuclear industry, but we are now the first company in the world, as a service provider in heavy lifting and transport, to become certified. It’s an incredible achievement, and a testament to the incredible teams we have at Mammoet and their dedication to providing our customers with the very best service possible – and to shape the future of the nuclear sector alongside them”.

Mammoet has decades of experience in nuclear power and has supported major projects for companies including EDF, ITER, RWE, Framatome, Bruce Power and PreussenElektra. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
