WSP, one of the world’s leading professional services consulting firms, has appointed Dincer Mete as Director of Infrastructure, Middle East.
Based in Riyadh, Dincer will support the continued growth and delivery of WSP’s Transport & Infrastructure business across the region, including complex and nationally significant programmes in the Kingdom.
An industry veteran, Dincer brings 25 years of international experience across major infrastructure, transportation, engineering, construction and EPC programmes, with a strong track record in leading multidisciplinary teams, managing complex stakeholder environments and supporting the successful delivery of large-scale projects across Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
His appointment marks a return to WSP, where he previously worked between 2012 and 2017, including as Design Interface Manager on the landmark Eurasia Tunnel Project, a double-deck road tunnel beneath the Bosphorus connecting the European and Asian sides of Istanbul.
He later moved into a broader infrastructure project management role within WSP’s Istanbul office.
Since leaving WSP, Dincer has held senior infrastructure and engineering leadership roles across major programmes in Türkiye and Saudi Arabia.
This includes the 1915 Çanakkale Suspension Bridge Project, the world’s longest main-span suspension bridge at 2,023m, where he led EPC design management and the design-to-construction interface throughout its fast-track delivery.
Most recently, he led a 170-person multidisciplinary engineering business unit in Saudi Arabia, with responsibility for business performance and a portfolio of more than 35 projects.
This experience will support WSP’s continued focus on strong delivery, client relationships and technical excellence across its infrastructure portfolio in the Middle East.
Lauding the appointment, Alan Caldwell, Managing Director for Transport & Infrastructure at WSP Middle East, said: “Dincer brings deep infrastructure experience, strong major programme delivery expertise and a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams. His appointment strengthens our Transport & Infrastructure business across the Middle East, and we are delighted to welcome him back to WSP.”
In his new role, Dincer will support the successful delivery of WSP’s infrastructure portfolio across the Middle East, strengthen relationships with clients and strategic stakeholders, develop high-performing teams and contribute to the continued growth of the Transport & Infrastructure business across the region.
"It is a real pleasure to be returning to WSP. I look forward to working with colleagues, clients and partners across the Middle East to support the delivery of complex infrastructure programmes that contribute to the region’s long-term development ambitions," he added.
