Saipem, a global leader in the engineering and construction of major projects for the energy and infrastructure sectors based in Italy, has won a key contract worth $1.8 billion for an offshore project in the Middle East region.

The scope of work encompasses the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of offshore and subsea facilities, said Saipem in a statement.

The project will leverage Saipem’s proven regional track record in delivering pipeline and offshore infrastructure, supported by its regional vessels and advanced engineering capabilities, it stated.

For Saipem, this comes close on the heels of a big Saudi contract win in JUne by its key joint venture - Saipem Nasser Saeed Al‑Hajri Contracting Company (SNSH) - for a new compression plant in the non‑associated gas field of Uthmaniyah.

As per the deal worth €900 million, the SNSH will provide EPCI services for the key onshore facility within a 42-month period, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
