Held in collaboration with Oman Energy Association (OPAL), the event brought together senior executives, experts and decision-makers from the energy and financial sectors to discuss the industry’s transformation and emerging investment opportunities.

The symposium highlighted the energy sector’s vital role in boosting GDP growth and strengthening Oman’s regional and global competitiveness. Participants also stressed the importance of collaboration between financial institutions and energy companies to support large-scale projects aligned with Oman Vision 2040.

Sohar International highlighted its role in financing and advising projects focused on energy security, economic diversification and sustainability.

The bank said stronger partnerships, innovation and private-sector investment will be essential to building a resilient, future-ready energy sector and supporting Oman’s long-term prosperity.

Abdulwahid Al Murshidi, Chief Executive Officer, Sohar International said: “At Sohar International, we see our role extending beyond banking. We are committed to being an enabler of growth in strategic sectors. The energy sector is central to Oman’s future, and through platforms like this symposium, we aim to drive dialogue, mobilise investment, and forge the partnerships needed to position Oman as a globally competitive energy hub.”

Throughout the discussions, participants examined emerging opportunities for capital deployment in renewables, gas, hydrogen, and energy infrastructure, while also addressing the key challenges and policy frameworks needed to accelerate the energy transition.

Mohammed Al Naabi, Chief Executive Officer, Oman Energy Association (OPAL), said: “The partnership with Sohar International reflects our shared commitment to advancing Oman’s energy sector. OPAL believes that strong collaboration between industry and finance is essential to unlock investment, drive innovation, and ensure the sector continues to support Oman’s economic diversification and the goals of Vision 2040.” -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
