Jeddah Airports Company’s Terminal 1 at King Abdulaziz International Airport has received LEED Gold Certification from the US Green Building Council, recognising its sustainability and operational standards.
Spanning 810,000 square metres, Terminal 1 is the largest
single building in Saudi Arabia to achieve the certification.
LEED assesses buildings on energy efficiency, water
conservation, indoor environmental quality and responsible resource management.
The certification reflects Jeddah Airports’ efforts to
improve facility efficiency and integrate sustainability, innovation and
operational excellence into airport development.
The company said the achievement supports the airport’s role
as a leading gateway to Saudi Arabia and contributes to the aviation sector’s
objectives under Vision 2030. -TradeArabia News Service
