Sabic has secured an R&D 100 Award for the sixth consecutive year, earning recognition for its NORYL V0 resins, a laser-weldable specialty material developed for the solar energy sector.
The award, in the Materials Science category, highlights Sabic’s
efforts to improve photovoltaic manufacturing efficiency and component
performance while supporting wider solar energy adoption.
The NORYL V0 portfolio includes V0150TW absorptive and
V0150IR2 transmissive resins, combining flame retardancy, enhanced
weatherability and sealing performance.
The materials are
designed to enable faster, cleaner production of photovoltaic microinverters
while improving reliability and outdoor durability.
Sabic said the technology can help reduce energy
consumption, material waste and manufacturing costs, potentially supporting
more efficient renewable energy deployment.
Dr Faisal Alfaqeer, Sabic CEO and Executive Board Member, said,
“We are honored to receive this prestigious global recognition, which reflects
our commitment to solving complex industry challenges through technology
expertise and a relentless focus on creating value for our customers. As we
celebrate this achievement, we remain dedicated to pushing the boundaries of
material science and delivering groundbreaking solutions that help bring
meaningful progress.”
The resins also received an Edison Award in the Materials
Science category earlier this year.
Sabic has earned seven R&D 100 Awards and three finalist honours since 2021, reinforcing its position in research and innovation. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
