Four expats injured in Khorfakkan Port fire incident

Sharjah authorities have confirmed that one Nepali national sustained severe injuries and has been transported to a hospital today (April 5) following a fragments incident at Khorfakkan Port.

Three Pakistani nationals likewise sustained minor to moderate injuries caused by same falling fragments following a successful interception by UAE air defence systems, reported Wam.

The Sharjah Government Media Bureau, quoting competent authorities, confirmed that emergency response teams successfully contained a fire at the site.

Cooling operations are currently underway after crews managed the situation with speed and efficiency, it added.

Meanwhile, a security scare has unfolded at Khor Fakkan Port after a vessel reported suspicious activity involving unknown projectiles striking near a container ship during loading operations, reported the Times Of India, citing the UK Maritime Trade Operations.

While UKMTO experts confirmed the report, the Sharjah authorities said the scale and source of the attack remain unclear, with investigations underway.
