Bahrain homes damaged after Iranian drone downed over Sitra

Bahrain's Ministry of Interior announced early today (April 4) that four civilians sustained minor injuries and a number of homes in Sitra were damaged as a result of falling debris caused by the interception and destruction of an Iranian drone.

The ministry stated in a press release that the Civil Defence Directorate and the National Ambulance immediately began their procedures at the site.

Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Police, and Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa, Capital Governor, conducted an inspection visit to homes in Sitra affected by debris from the interception of an Iranian drone, reported BNA.

During the visit, they assessed the safety of citizens and residents, noting that the injuries sustained by some citizens were minor, and are receiving full medical follow-up.

Lt. Gen. Al Hassan said that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under its leadership, is strong and capable of overcoming these challenges, and will emerge from this crisis stronger and more united.

He highlighted the keenness of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on following up on the conditions of those affected and ensuring that all forms of support and care are provided to them.

He also noted the keenness of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to ensure the safety of citizens and provide them with every means of support under all circumstances, reflecting the leadership’s approach to protecting the security and safety of community, stated the BNA report.

Lt. Gen. Al Hassan further pointed to the close follow-up by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior, to implement the leadership’s directives and mobilise resources to support those affected and provide their basic needs, including shelter arrangements and coordination with the relevant authorities, to ensure a swift response to the repercussions of the incident and mitigate its impact.

Security authorities, he stated. continue to perform their duties with professionalism and efficiency as part of the national efforts to protect lives and property and enhance immediate response to various emergency situations.

On his part, the Capital Governor said that the leadership is keen to provide all capabilities and measures to support those affected and provide their requirements promptly, in a manner that upholds social cohesion and underscores the Kingdom’s ability to deal with challenges, the report added.
