Volvo CE announces key changes in executive management team
Christian Hallbjörne and Malin Norman.

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE), a global leader in construction solutions, has made some changes to its Executive Management Team as part of its efforts to strengthen focus on business and cultural transformation and further accelerate overall company performance.

Announcing the revamp, Volvo CE said Christian Hallbjörner, an industry veteran, has been appointed as Head of Finance and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), while Malin Norman is the new Head of People & Culture. They will be based in Eskilstuna, Sweden and report to Melker Jernberg, Head of Volvo CE.

Hallbjörner succeeds Klara Eiritz who has decided to take on a new assignment outside Volvo CE as announced in September last year, while Norman will take over her new role effective March 1.

An industry veteran, he brings more than 28 years of experience in finance, business control, and business development to the role, including his last 15 years within Volvo Financial Services, Volvo Trucks, and Volvo Penta.

Hallbjörner had previously served as Senior Vice President, Finance, and Chief Financial Officer for Volvo Financial Services.

Lauding the appointment, Jernberg said: "I am excited to welcome Christian to Volvo CE. With his extensive experience within the Volvo Group, Christian will be a key contributor in driving our financial agenda as we continue to transform our company."

Norman will succeed Ann-Sofie Räftegård, who, after more than six years in the role, assumes a new position as Senior Transformation Lead at Volvo CE.

She brings to the table a long and successful career across several parts of the Volvo Group, including her roles at GTO Powertrain in Köping, Sweden; GTO Powertrain in Hagerstown, US; and, since 2021, serving as Head of People & Culture Technology at Volvo CE.

"It’s a pleasure to see an internal talent take on this exciting challenge. Malin brings a wealth of experience, with her broad background across Volvo and her leadership in Technology making her well-suited to advance our People & Culture agenda," remarked Jernberg.

"I’m confident Malin will make a significant impact, and I look forward to working closely with her," he added.
