Chinese group Harbin Electric International is delivering the Rumah-2 Combined-Cycle Power Plant in Saudi Arabia as part of the kingdom's efforts to advance its energy transition under Vision 2030. The company recently hoisted the Gas Turbine Unit 1 into position, thus kicking off the project's installation work.
GE Vernova and Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) have announced the successful completion of the kingdom's first gas turbine maintenance project. The eighth power plant in Riyadh, it boasts a production capacity of over 1,700MW.
Mitsubishi Power, a power solutions brand of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, has secured a major contract to supply advanced gas turbine technology for Qatar's Facility E Independent Water and Power Project (IWPP) in the Ras Abu Fontas area. It is expected to be operational in 2028.
