Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort announces key appointments

Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort, a luxury hospitality project in Ras Al Khaimah, has announced the appointment of Rajeev Gopalakrishnan as Director of Operations and Yves Bas as Director of Culinary. 
 
A 5-star destination, it features 292 luxurious rooms and suites, each offering stunning garden, pool, or sea views and exquisite interiors. The resort has four beachfront swimming pools and an array of amenities. 
 
These strategic additions to the executive team aim to enhance the resort’s offerings and improve the guest experience.
 
Gopalakrishnan has extensive expertise in hospitality management, having held senior positions at prestigious brands such as The Ritz-Carlton and InterContinental Hotels, said the statement from Sofitel group. 
 
His career spans the UK, US, and other key markets, with a strong focus on food and beverage leadership. 
He holds a Swiss Postgraduate Diploma in Hospitality from the Institute Hôtelier César Ritz in Switzerland. 
 
In his new role as the Director of Operations, Gopalakrishnan will oversee resort operations, drive efficiency, and elevate guest service standards.
 
Yves Bas, a Belgian national, boasts over 25 years of global culinary experience. He holds a diploma in Hotel Administration from Hotelschool Hasselt in Belgium. 
 
Bas has held significant positions throughout his career, including working at InterContinental Hotels in Abu Dhabi and serving as the Specialty Outlet Chef at Yas Island Rotana. 
 
Additionally, he has managed global operations for the Belgian Beer Café and has driven food and beverage innovations for luxury hotels throughout Dubai. At Sofitel Al Hamra, he will lead culinary development efforts to enhance the resort’s dining experience.
