VisitBritain names Mirna Tamimi as GCC communications manager

VisitBritain, the national tourism agency for Great Britain, has announced the appointment of Mirna Tamimi as its new communications manager for the GCC region.
 
Mirna’s role at VisitBritain focuses on promoting Britain’s visitor offer across the GCC, working with media to profile the latest tourism products, experiences and attractions. 
 
This ranges from hosted media visits to destination promotion, encouraging visitors to explore of Britain through its regional gateways. 
 
Latest forecasts from VisitBritain estimate a record 1.3 million visits from the GCC to the UK in 2024, up 21% on 2023. It is forecasting that visitors from the GCC will spend £3.1 billion on their trips to the UK this year, up 26% on 2023.
 
VisitBritain is the British Tourist Authority (BTA), operating under the brand names VisitBritain and VisitEngland. 
 
Funded by the UK Government’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport, it functions as a non-departmental public body as established in the Development of Tourism Act 1969.
 
As the national tourism agency, it works to raise Britain’s profile, increase the volume and value of tourism exports and develop England’s visitor economy, working with organisations of all sizes and specialities.-TradeArabia News Service
