Abu Dhabi Liwa Village returns from Dec 13

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has announced the return of Liwa Village, a 23-day-long event celebrating Emirati culture, music, art, and adventure. 
 
Taking place from December 13 to January 4, this event forms an integral part of Liwa 2025, promising to be bigger and better than ever with a host of new attractions, thrilling activations, and star-studded live entertainment.
 
Liwa Village offers an immersive experience across six themed areas: the bustling Souk, family-friendly Wanasa; Tarab Liwa, hosting live performances; Adrenaline, offering high-speed adventures; Shams, showcasing breathtaking desert views; and Meydan for friendly competition. 
This year’s edition introduces new and exciting experiences in partnership with CFI, Talabat, YanGo Maps, ADCB and Al Masaood Equipment Rental, such as:
• Hot Air Balloon Glow Show: A magical display of colourful balloons that lights up the sky, creating unforgettable memories against the dramatic desert backdrop.
• FMX Experience: Skilled freestyle motocross riders will defy gravity with jaw-dropping stunts, leaving visitors in awe.
• Monster Jam: World-class athletes will showcase their skills, navigating 12,000-pound trucks in gravity-defying competitions, promising an unforgettable experience.
• Hollywood Circus: Daily performances featuring acrobatics displays, magic, and plenty of laughs, ensuring a fun-filled experience for all ages.
• Live performances: Audiences can look forward to an unforgettable line-up of local and international artists, including Mutref Al Mutref and Mohammad Al Bakri on 14 December, Hamad El Ameri and Aryam on 21 December, and Mahmoud Al Turky and Assel on 28 December. Finally, on New Year's Eve, Abadi Al Johar and Rahma Riad will take to the stage for an extraordinary celebration under the stars.
• Horror Escape Room: A chilling realm inspired by Emirati folklore, where visitors can test their courage and wit to escape the eerie atmosphere.
• Immersive Museum: A 360-degree projection mapping experience that allows guests to explore dreams and stories under the desert night sky.
• Art Hub: A unique desert setting that brings together tradition and contemporary expression, showcasing the vibrancy of Emirati culture.
• Hot Air Balloon Experiences: Visitors can float effortlessly above the festival, taking in the desert dunes from a bird’s-eye view, either in a free-flying balloon or in a tethered version.
• Go Karting Zone: A high-speed thrill ride with sharp turns and straightaways, perfect for adrenaline junkies.
 
The Liwa International Festival 2025, celebrates over 20 years of tradition as the UAE's ultimate winter experience. Held at the base of Tal Moreeb, the UAE’s tallest sand dune, the festival blends thrilling motorsport, desert activities, entertainment, and traditional Emirati experiences. For 23 days, it transforms Al Dhafra into "The Desert’s Grand Stage," offering cultural, family-friendly, and adventurous activities that connect residents and visitors to Abu Dhabi’s unique heritage and stunning landscapes. - TradeArabia News Service
