Mandarin Oriental Al Faisaliah, Riyadh has launched a ‘Year of the Camel’ menu that celebrates the cultural value of the animal, and their enduring connection with the people of the Arabian Peninsula throughout history.

With the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia designating 2024 as the ‘Year of the Camel’, the luxury hotel’s culinary team has curated four new signature dishes using authentic, locally-sourced ingredients.

This special menu will be available throughout the year at La Brasserie, The Globe, The Mandarin Lounge, and even In-room Dining.

Comprised of a perfectly seasoned camel patty nestled between toasted buns, the signature item is adorned with a special flag in honour of Saudi Arabia’s cultural identity.

One of the most sought-after restaurants in Riyadh, The Globe has elevated this luxury ingredient to prepare a Camel Loin Pithivier. The round pie, enclosed in puff pastry, resembles a hump in a playful nod to the camel’s physique – and the meat is complemented by dessert truffle, mushroom ragout, and beetroot.

At La Brasserie – the contemporary, multi-cuisine restaurant – guests can try a Saudi-style Camel Kabsa. Tender camel meat has been cooked in a tomato sauce with onion, ginger and traditional spices, offering an innovative twist on classic flavours.

Meanwhile, The Mandarin Lounge offers a Camel Milk Ice Cream with a hint of vanilla for a delicious sweet ending to the celebration.
