Wastoria RAK appoints new executive chef

RAS AL-KHAIMAH, December 17, 2018

Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah, the iconic destination in the peaceful Northern Emirate, has announced the appointment of Nicolas De Visch to executive chef.

The Belgium national has over 28 years of experience in some of the world’s finest kitchens from France, Scotland, Dubai and the Philippines to South Korea and Mauritius. De Visch brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah’s award winning team.

Prior to his role at Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah, De Visch has held a number of senior positions at restaurants and hotels around the world including the St Regis Mauritius, the Intercontinental Fiji, the W Hotel Taipei, Taiwan and The Peninsula Manila, Philippines as executive chef.

In his new role at Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah, De Visch will oversee all the food and beverage activity for the hotel including the award winning restaurants Lexington Grill and Umi, ensuring an efficient and profitable kitchen is operated as well as sourcing the finest ingredients and creating new and delicious dishes for guests to enjoy.

Passionate about growth, Chef De Visch likes to think outside of the box and encourages his team to be creative and bold in their delivery – driving them through intensive and motivating training programmes to encourage them to be the best they can be.
