Preparations are underway to inaugurate the new passenger terminal at the Kuwait International Airport, with its inaugural flight by Kuwait Airways heading to Bahrain International Airport on August 8, said a report.

The inauguration ceremony of the new terminal will be attended by ministers, senior officials, civil aviation specialists and media personnel, local news agency BNA reported.

"It is a source of our pride that Kuwait Airways makes its inaugural flight from the new terminal to Bahrain," the report said citing Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Bahrain's Transportation and Telecommunications Minister.

Mohammed yesterday received Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain and the Dean of Diplomatic Corps, Shaikh Azzam Mubarak Al-Sabah. Together they reviewed the ongoing inaugural preparations.

The minister also extended congratulations to Kuwaiti Amir, HH Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Crown Prince, HH Shaikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and Prime Minister, HH Shaikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, on the historic occasion and milestone achievement.
