Turkish Airlines introduces new wireless IFE system

ISTANBUL, June 27, 2018

Turkish Airlines has introduced a new wireless in-flight entertainment (IFE) system onboard its flights, developed entirely by Turkish engineers, in cooperation with Turkish Technic and Havelsan.

M. İlker Aycı, Turkish Airlines chairman of the Board and the executive committee, commented: “We’re proud to be the first user of this in-house developed product. We believe that these steps will be of great importance to the development of Turkish Civil Aviation.”

Passengers will be able to connect to this in-flight entertainment system, which will be installed on the carrier's flights that do not have a seatback screen, via their personal electronic devices by downloading an application named "Wi-Fi Entertainment" onto their smartphones.

In addition to the mobile devices, passengers will also be able to use the Wireless Entertainment System on their laptops by using the Google Chrome browser.

The new product will allow Turkish Airlines to offer in-flight entertainment on 95 per cent of its flights.

Through this Wireless In-flight Entertainment System, passengers will be able to access over 250 films, 700 TV Shows, 2,000 music albums, 19.000 songs, and more media content. - TradeArabia News Service
