Gulf Air unveils fleet, route expansion plans at key Saudi event

Bahrain national carrier Gulf Air showcased its new strategy at the recent 2018 Saudi Aramco Annual Travel Show held in Dhahran announcing major network expansion in Saudi Arabia as well as fleet expansion by the end of the year.
Gulf Air shared news of its highly anticipated incoming fleet of 39 new Boeing and Airbus aircraft which will commence delivery in the coming months, with seven new aircraft - five Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and two Airbus A320neo aircraft - entering the airline’s fleet before the end of the year.
Gulf Air’s new fleet will be outfitted with superior onboard products and services including some of the best-in-class seats, in-flight entertainment and more. With strategic goals to be best in class across both its wide and narrow body fleet, Gulf Air’s new business class offering will compete with the first class standard of other airlines while its economy class product will afford enhanced onboard comfort.
Alongside this, Gulf Air promoted its attractive flight schedule to/from five destinations in Saudi Arabia, its flexible and convenient travel proposition in addition to the airline’s latest news, which includes major network expansion plans to the Saudi Arabian cities of Abha and Tabuk, from June 15. This will expand its Saudi Arabia operations to complement its current service to Dammam, Riyadh, Madina Al Munawarah, Jeddah and Gassim.
Further to its upcoming new routes in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in 2018 the airline will add to its current India operations to Delhi, Chennai, Kochi, Mumbai, Trivandrum and Hyderabad, with flights to Bangalore and Calicut. Gulf Air’s Cairo operations will be supplemented by direct flights to Alexandria and flights to Sharm El Shaikh. The airline will also launch operations to Baku in Azerbaijan and to Casablanca in Morocco.
Today, Gulf Air operates one the largest networks in the Middle East with double daily flights or more to select destinations across the GCC, Mena region, Indian Subcontinent and Europe.
