Mickey and friends return to Bahrain for Eid

MANAMA, March 14, 2018

Mickey Mouse and his friends are coming back to Bahrain for another fun-filled show with a twist, with live performances on ice.

More than 50 unforgettable Disney stars will be making their way to the kingdom during Eid Al Fitr in June for 'Disney on Ice presents Passport to Adventure'.

Produced by Feld Entertainment, the spectacular ice show will be held from June 15 to 19 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, and will feature Disney’s Frozen, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King and Peter Pan.

Details of the event were announced at a press conference held today at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain and was attended by Shaikh Khalid bin Hamood Al Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain Authority for Tourism and Exhibitions; Steven Armstrong, Feld Entertainment vice president for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA); and Barney York, marketing director, Sport and Entertainment Solutions.

“It gives us a great pleasure to add one of the most extraordinary shows to BTEA’s calendar of events. Disney On Ice presents Passport to Adventure will further position the kingdom as a leading family destination while offering visitors of all ages the opportunity to enjoy the family entertainment in an unforgettable setting," said Shaikh Khaled.

Disney On Ice will take place during the Eid Al-Fitr holidays, a period during which there is a great demand for family tourism in the kingdom, he said.

A team of international award-winning figure skaters from 15 different countries will enthral viewers as they bring to life critically acclaimed Disney hits like The Little Mermaid's 'Under the Sea' and Frozen's 'Let it go'.

Choreographed by the renowned Cindy Stuart, the show will see breathtaking stunts and original moves convey each storyline.

“Bringing Disney On Ice to Bahrain for the first time this June will give families from across the country the opportunity to see their favourite Frozen, Little Mermaid, Lion King and Peter Pan characters come to life live on ice. We look forward to having families in Bahrain join us on this unique and spectacular adventure, creating memories which will last a lifetime” said Armstrong.

A total of 12 shows will be held over the five-day period, giving visitors and residents a chance to be a part of an unforgettable experience.
