Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa in Dubai has appointed Clive Micallef as its new executive chef, who brings almost two decades of international hospitality and restaurant experience.

Originally from Malta, Micallef started his professional culinary career in the year 2000 right after completing his studies at the Institute of Tourism in Malta, where he held ‘Diploma in food preparation and handling’. Over the last 18 years, chef Micallef has worked at well-known venues including Grosvenor House Park Lane in London, UK, Westin Malta and Intercontinental Malta in his home country Malta. His most recent role was complex executive sous chef at The Westin & Le Meridian Mina Seyahi Complex in Dubai, UAE.

Commenting on his role, chef Micallef said: “Leading the culinary team at Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa is a great opportunity to showcase my expertise and passion in this field and together with the resort’s culinary team, I am positive that we will provide the guests the most memorable and true authentic culinary experience in Dubai.”

In his new capacity, chef Micallef will be overseeing the culinary operations for the resort’s banquets, in-room dining services and outside catering in addition to eight exclusive dining venues including award-winning outdoor desert Arabian restaurant Al Hadheerah, authentic Indian restaurant Masala, traditional Italian outlet Le Dune, the all-dining international restaurant Al Forsan, award-winning Al Sarab’ Rooftop Lounge, Ya Hala Lobby Lounge, and the Pool Bar. - TradeArabia News Service
