Passengers on a flight from Ankara to Trabzon escaped a horrific end after the plane skidded off the runway and down the side of a cliff, said a report.

The Pegasus Airline plane ended up halway down the steep slope, stopping just metres short of the sea, said a report in The Telegraph.

All 162 passengers and crew on board miraculously escaped uninjured.

Authorities are yet to determine what caused the plane to veer off the runway, the report said.
