Dubai-based Draw Link Group, an international interior design consultancy and fit-out firm specialising in hospitality sector, said it has been shortlisted for another global interior design award - in the category ‘Hotel Over 200 Rooms Global Award’ in The International Hotel and Property Awards 2018.

Draw Link Group has worked on numerous hotel interiors across the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region, and the team the company has put together in combination with their professional experience have a thorough understanding of Middle Eastern, African, and Mediterranean design elements that often incorporated into their interior fixtures.

For instance, it once combined Mediterranean and a marine ambience in one of the projects it worked on by utilising decorative objects, appropriately themed furniture, materials, colours, and local elements.

A very important and challenging aspect when designing for hospitality projects is placing the guest at the core of design aesthetics, said a top official.

"In general, design aesthetics for hospitality projects are difficult to establish and maintain, as requirements change with clients, brands, and localities. However, when it comes to luxury or five-star branding, a common theme and trend for designing both exteriors and interiors is keeping it simple, yet beautiful," remarked Daousser Chennoufi, the CEO of Draw Link Group.

"Functional design is a huge part of what we do. We rate accessibility, ease of use, and comfort of our clients’ guests very highly, and strive to achieve a balance between this and the emotional aspect of design according to our clients’ requirements," he stated.

"A project we worked on used a theatrical theme for the entire hotel, so we installed light fittings strategically placed in a such way as to light up the reception area and then gradually dim the light intensity while going deeper into the hotel," added Chennoufi.

The comprehensive and bespoke design services that DLG provides has seen it been honoured with prestigious awards over the years.

Some of these include the IAIR award for the ‘Best Company for Leadership Interior Design UAE 2014’, and the ‘Best Hotel Interior Dubai 2011’ presented by International Hotel Awards amongst others.
