WTM London to host China, Asia market-focussed sessions

LONDON, October 11, 2017

World Travel Market London, the leading global event for the travel industry, will hold two dedicated conference sessions focused on the Asia and China markets on November 6 and 8.

This year, WTM London will offer two themed conference sessions on “Responsible Tourism in China” and “Redefining the travel experience – A viewpoint from Asia and China”.

Each session will include speakers and panelists with a focus on Asia as a whole and China in particular looking at some of the key trends that are shaping the growth of tourism, from destination development to digital marketing and personalisation initiatives.

Asia now represents some of the fastest growth in the world, not only in travel and tourism but across many parts of the economy.

China is emerging as a major destination and source market. Introducing Responsible Tourism in China provides an opportunity to learn about China’s approach to sustainable tourism and about what is happening around the Responsible Tourism agenda in the country.

In recent years, the Chinese independent travel market has been growing fast. While the Chinese market represents a huge business opportunity due to its size, growth rate and spending power, most destinations, suppliers and intermediaries have been struggling to capitalise effectively due to a variety of barriers including cultural, regulatory and geographical.

Diversification of the customer base along with increased maturity of wants and needs represent exciting new opportunities to service providers in the tourism industry that previously may have stayed away from the Chinese market.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet with leading experts in the field and hear from Roy Graff, managing director of Dragon Trail at the launch of a new channel for deep insight and analysis of the Chinese outbound market. - TradeArabia News Service
