Turkish Airlines posts record load factor in August

ISTANBUL, September 19, 2017

Turkish Airlines' load factor reached a record high in the month of August, at 84.3 per cent, up 5.7 points compared to the same period in 2016.

International load factor also recorded a jump, up 6.3 points to 84.1 per cent compared to the August 2016.

Double digit growth in demand (revenue per kilometer) that commenced in July kept on, with 10.1 per cent growth in demand.

While capacity (Available Seat Kilometre) increased by 2.6 per cent compared to August 2016, total number of passengers carried went up by 14 per cent, reaching 7.4 million passengers.

Excluding international-to-international transfer passengers (transit passengers), the number of international passengers went up by 40 per cent.

In August, cargo/mail volume increased by 18 per cent compared to the same period last year.

January-August 2017 traffic results

From January-August, increase in demand and total number of passengers was 5.5 per cent and 6.1 per cent, respectively, over the same period of last year.

During the first eight months, total load factor improved by 4.3 points up to 79 per cent, while international load factor increased almost by 5 points, up to 78 per cent. - TradeArabia News Service
