Al Bustan Centre integrates building management systems

DUBAI, August 21, 2017

Al Bustan Centre and Residence, a popular hotel-apartment in Dubai, UAE, has recently launched a building management system (BMS) with a primary objective to reduce cost on energy while increasing the productivity of its machinery across the property.

The initiative has been launched to meet the need of Al Bustan Centre and Residence to reduce energy consumption and manage costs, whilst enhancing guest experience and comfort, by offering a high degree of personal control over the guest room environment.

Al Bustan Centre and Residence has set up a fully automated system which covers mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) that will benefit in controlling and monitoring these services at the property.

Light  and temperature control plays a vital role in the overall guest experience of a hotel room and by installing this new energy-saving project initiative the hotel-apartments will be able to achieve a decent saving in the near future as lighting alone typically accounts for 25 per cent of an organisation’s electricity consumption, said Al Bustan Centre and Residence in a statement.

Control of the room environment by the guest and hotel when the room is unoccupied adds value and significantly reduces energy costs. Dubai is at the heart of the region's hospitality sector and a world-class hospitality hub, with World Expo 2020 stimulating further strong growth.

Moussa El Hayek, chief operating officer, Al Bustan Centre and Residence, said: "We are proud to launch the hotel-apartments management system for light, temperature and blind control that integrates with building management systems. The solutions are contemporary designed, energy-efficient control options that help differentiate a property or hotel, where guests can step into a room in which lights and shades automatically adjust to a predetermined welcome scene. This is a milestone project in developing better ways to enhance the property infrastructure and the betterment in the long run.” - TradeArabia News Service
