As part of its initiatives during the Ramadan season, Amwaj Rotana Jumeirah Beach, Dubai, hosted a special Iftar for the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children on May 30.
Held in the hotel’s ballroom, the event saw a group of 40 women and children savour an extensive buffet of salads, mezze, main courses and more specially prepared by the hotel’s culinary team for Iftar. Apart from the meal, there was a henna artist creating traditional designs for the women while the kids had an activity zone with arts and crafts, cupcake decorating, games and movie screening.
Established in July 2007, the foundation offers support for women and children in the UAE who have experienced cases of violence, abuse and trafficking. Commenting on the initiative, Jasmine Arika, director of marketing and communications at Amwaj Rotana said, “At a special time such as Ramadan, the hotel ensures to have some form of social responsibility. It was our first time working with the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children and it will not be our last. The Iftar was a great opportunity not just for us to offer a meal but also to dedicate our time through our volunteers.”
Members of the team from various departments of the hotel volunteered at the event to run the activities, serve food and drinks and interact with the guests. Amwaj Rotana was awarded a certificate of appreciation for supporting the foundation by hosting this special event. - TradeArabia News Service
