Ferrari World Abu Dhabi launches new ride
ABU DHABI, March 30, 2017
Ferrari World Abu Dhabi yesterday (March 29) officially launched the highly-anticipated rollercoaster “Turbo Track”.
The latest ride was unveiled at an event attended by Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of Miral; Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, CEO of Miral; and Luca Fuso, Ferrari’s chief brand officer, along with a host of dignitaries and distinguished guests.
Turbo Track is another first for the park, with major structural changes made to the building to accommodate it, said a statement.
The rollercoaster launches guests from inside the park at 102 kmph through the famous glass funnel, propelling them vertically through the iconic red roof to the highest point on Yas Island at 64 m, before they plummet vertically back down, it added.
Jesse Vargas, general manager, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, said: “Today, we are celebrating the exceptional story of how a world-class rollercoaster came to be.”
“We are extremely humbled by the passionate drive that continues to fuel the minds and hearts of our team at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and those who diligently worked behind the scenes to bring this new ride to life,” he said.
“Turbo Track isn’t just a rollercoaster; it’s an experience that combines the passion rooted in Ferrari’s traditions and values, with the excitement of a unique thrill ride,” he added.
“Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is going to be the location for mega rollercoaster enthusiasts all over the world,” Vargas concluded.
Al Zaabi added: “With this new ride, we have expanded the theme park’s portfolio to 37 rides and attractions creating unmatched experiences to local and global visitors.”
“This new development reflects our commitment to continuously invest in new attractions that support our efforts in making Yas Island an unrivalled destination for leisure and entertainment,” he concluded.
Turbo Track is the third ride to be launched at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi in the past 12 months. The new ride will add to the full experience at the park that appeals to thrill-seeking guests and families alike, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
