Leading Arab investor calls for investments in leisure industry
DOHA, March 30, 2017
A leading Arab investor and contractor has called for more investments in entertainment and leisure industry, saying this would help Gulf economies by boosting shopping, and attracting families to do local tourism.
In a statement commenting on Entertainment Amusement and Leisure 2017 - the largest amusement and entertainment show in the Middle East held in Dubai - Moataz Al-Khayyat, CEO of UrbaCon, has said that "leisure and edutainment market is strongly growing so it very important that investments in this sector should be expanded."
"For example KidzMondo Doha, the edutainment arm of UCC, is a fantastic place for children where they could express their dreams and hopes and imitate the normal working life," said Qatar-based UrbaCon's CEO.
"KidzMondo Doha is the first and only City of Education and Entertainment in Qatar where up to 800 children can play in a safe environment under the guidance of 200 trained expert staff, so it is really a new dimension to the understanding of edutainment," added al-Khayyat.
UrbaCon Trading & Contracting has built many family-friendly hotels in the region. In addition to the Mall of Qatar, included among its projects are the Banana Island Resort, the Sheraton Doha Hotel and Convention Center, and the Lekhwiya Stadium at Al Duhail. - TradeArabia News Service
