‘Bahrain for All’ festival organisers meet
MANAMA, March 27, 2017
Organisers of the Bahrain for All festival met with officials from the Ministry of Interior to discuss the participation of its various directorates in the event, which will be taking place next month.
The Ministry’s participation comes in line with the directives of Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and as part of the Ministry’s strategic policy of strengthening communication between all segments of society.
In attendance were Prof. Mohammed Saad, Advisor to the Ministry, and Captain Muna Al Arabi from the Department of Community Services at the General Directorate of Muharraq Governorate Police.
Undersecretary of The Ministry of Interior Shaikh Nasser Bin AbdulRahman Al Khalifa said: “Bahrain For All reflects what Bahrain has been known for, embracing different cultures and communities, promoting tolerance and moderation and openness to different cultures and civilizations, and contributing to the development of human civilisation.”
More than 40 embassies, clubs, societies, and organisations will take part in the festival, which will be held on April 7 from 4pm to 10pm at Prince Khalifa Park in Hidd. The event will offer a range of live shows, including performances by Hamad ‘Mystro’ Al Fardan and DJ Westlife, all emceed by local comedian Ali ‘Fingerz’ Al Esbai. There will also be over 250 market stalls for visitors to enjoy, as well as raffle draws with prizes offered by Sadad payment gateway. The organisers of Bahrain for All aim for the event to showcase unity and harmony amongst the kingdom’s various communities.
The Ministry of Interior will be promoting several of its directorates’ activities in relation to family and community protection. These include the roles of the Drug Control Directorate, the General Directorate of Traffic, the General Directorate of Civil Defence, Juvenile Rehabilitation, the Health and Social Affairs Directorate and the “Together” Programme. Entertainment will be provided by the Public Security Band, police horse riders, the Police Media and Public Relation Directorates, and the Coast Guard. Also participating are the General Directorate of Muharraq Governorate Police, the Human Resources Department and the Agricultural Department at the Works Directorate.
“We are grateful for the continued support of the Court of HRH the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Interior, Muharraq Municipality and Muharraq Municipal Council. Entrance is free and we look forward to welcoming everyone,” said organizer Nivedita Dhadphale.
Many of the Communities have participated in this festival since 2013. This year will include an area dedicated to the Hidd Rehabilitation Centre, Think Pink, WWIC, Bahrain Association for Parents and Friends of the Disabled, Saudi Bahraini Institute of the Blind, Bahraini Association for Downs Syndrome and others community organisations who will sell handmade items. - TradeArabia News Service
