Amwaj Rotana Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai, has partnered with The Angel Appeal, a project by The Mission to Seafarers, to offer aid to boatmen in distress.

In support of the initiative, Amwaj Rotana donated 300 necessity packages consisting of toothbrushes, toothpaste, soaps, shampoo and towels. The packages were distributed to the seamen at the port of Dubai Creek on March 9 with the help of 20 team members from the hotel.

The Angel Appeal offers support for seafarers in the UAE in the form of humanitarian aid and emergency support such as counselling, communication with home, shelter, food, clothes and legal matters.

Jasmine Arika, director of Marketing and Communications at Amwaj Rotana, shared that the hotel’s annual plan encompassed many aspects of social responsibility, of which charity was an important aspect and so approached The Angel Appeal to partner with them on this endeavour – one of many more to come over the course of the year. - TradeArabia News Service
