Truckers DXB announces food truck fest in February

DUBAI, January 30, 2017

Truckers DXB, a food truck movement bringing together homegrown food concepts, has announced a series of food truck events in February 2017.

Driving through Dubai and Abu Dhabi will be a roster of around 40 food trucks serving gourmet street food.

The festival came about following its highly-popular event Food Truck Jam held at Emirates Golf Club last year. Now on its second season, guests will discover new luscious green playgrounds with 15 food trucks parked in each venue, house beverages, live performances, and Truckers Market featuring 25 local vendors selling quirky handmade crafts and jewellery. While the adults are relaxing, the little ones can run freely on the grass and take part in activities tailored for kids.

“Truckers DXB seeks to build a culinary culture in the UAE putting spotlight on our homegrown talents. Through Food Truck Jam, we provide them with a platform to showcase their skills and creativity. Our series of events this season will have twice the number of trucks and are running each weekend in different locations,” said Alexandre Teodoresco, cultural entrepreneur and founder of TruckersDXB.

Some of the food trucks that are participating are: Calle Tacos, Copperwood, Toasted, The Shebi, Sir Loin & Sons, Yumtingz, Gobai, among others.

“We also seek to build a community of authentic food and music lovers like us, and those who want to have fun with simple things in life. For example, picnic mats are available on sale at the venue but we encourage guests to bring their own mats, blankets, and chairs,” he continued.

The first stop will be Emirates Golf Club on February 11, followed by Abu Dhabi Golf Club on February 17, and then the team will head back to Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club on the February 18, and then will finish off the month on the 25th at Emirates Golf Club.

Managed by events management company Core ME, Food Truck Jam is open to families of all ages from 5pm till 11pm, and entry is free.
