DXB Entertainments, the Dubai-based leisure and entertainments company, has announced that its theme park destination Dubai Parks and Resorts will open formally on December 18.

More than 1,500 of the world’s media, UAE dignitaries, celebrities and artists will be in attendance for the event, as well as over 200 children who have been invited to attend the event in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf and the Make A Wish Foundation.

The event, which will be held at Dubai Parks and Resorts, will showcase its theme parks in a special show involving the dancers and actors from Dubai Parks and Resorts’ live entertainment team, who perform in shows such as Jaan-e-Jigar and Step Up All In.

Following the launch of Legoland Dubai and Riverland Dubai on October 31 this year, and Bollywood Parks Dubai on November 17, DXB expects to open the Legoland Water Park in the near future, with exact dates to be announced soon, a statement said.

Motiongate Dubai is scheduled to open on the 16th December with the majority of rides and attractions being available. Tickets for Motiongate Dubai will be sold at a preview price of Dh250 ($68) until the end of March 2017.

Commenting on the revised opening strategy, Stanford Pinto, chief parks operating officer, said: “While we are targeting to have most of Motiongate Dubai ready for visitors on the 16th December, we have opted for a preview price reflecting the possibility that we may not have all rides and attractions certified on time. The safety of our visitors is of paramount importance as is an amazing customer experience.”

DXB Entertainments also announces that tickets are now on sale for Bollywood Parks Dubai’s two hour Broadway style Bollywood show Jaan-e-Jigar, performed in the Rajmahal Theatre.
