AccorHotels to open Novotel Downtown in Dubai

DUBAI, October 25, 2016

AccorHotels, one of the world’s leading hotel operators, has signed a management agreement with Acropole Holdings Limited for the Novotel Downtown Dubai.

Construction work on the hotel will commence in February 2017, with an anticipated opening date prior to Expo 2020.

The Novotel Downtown Dubai will be strategically located on Burj Khalifa Street, offering easy access for guests through Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Street. The Novotel will serve as an internationally branded upper-midscale option in an area with a large concentration of upscale and luxury properties.

Mahesh Ramchandani, spokesperson for Acropole Holdings Limited, commented: “We are pleased to have signed an agreement with AccorHotels to manage our upcoming hotel in Downtown Dubai. We believe that this partnership with AccorHotels will be a fruitful collaboration for Acropole, given AccorHotels' strong track record in the region and globally as one of the top performing international hotel operators. Together we hope to make this property in Downtown Dubai a great success and look forward to future partnerships with AccorHotels.”

Olivier Granet, managing director and chief operating officer AccorHotels Middle East, said: “It is a privilege for us to partner with Acropole Holdings as they expand into the development of hotels in Dubai. I am certain that through our expertise in the hospitality industry combined with Acropole Holdings’ vast experience across a number of real estate development projects in the Middle East and Africa; we will be able to create a unique and differentiated offering for guests looking for greater options and variety in the Downtown Dubai area.”

Due to its location, the Novotel Downtown Dubai will cater to both business and leisure travellers. Guests can enjoy close proximity to Dubai’s main tourist attractions including the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Dubai Fountains, Dubai Opera and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard. Corporate clients can access key business and financial districts in Dubai including the Dubai International Financial Center and Dubai World Trade Center.

The Novotel Downtown Dubai will offer 266 rooms. The hotel will also include five food and beverage outlets including an all-day dining restaurant, a sports bar, a rooftop lounge bar and a lobby café, in addition to a number of meeting rooms. Guests will also be able to enjoy the hotel’s swimming pool, health club and the In Balance Spa.

“AccorHotels remains committed towards strengthening the presence of our world-class brands within all market segments across the emirate due to its popularity as both a tourist and business destination. At present, the Group has 10 brands from our network in operation in the emirate. The development of the Novotel Downtown Dubai is a step-forward in providing greater diversity for guests in an area that predominantly caters to the upscale and luxury market. Demand in areas like Downtown Dubai is consistently high as it is in the vicinity of important tourist attractions and business districts. We expect this momentum in demand to continue in the run up to Expo 2020 and beyond”, said Granet.

The Novotel Downtown Dubai is part of AccorHotels’ leading upper-midscale Novotel Hotels, Suites & Resorts brand which caters to business and leisure travelers through its presence near business districts and tourist destinations across major international cities. The Novotel Downtown Dubai will be among the first Novotel hotels in the Middle East to feature the recently introduced N’Room concept. The N’Room looks to maximize guest satisfaction and flexibility through the Live N’Dream bed, its modular living driven Lounge N’More and the Connect N’Enjoy screens. This development joins the five Novotel properties currently in operation and in the pipeline in Dubai, standing as a testament to the growing strength of the brand within the emirate.

AccorHotels currently operates 87 hotels in the Middle East, encompassing over 26,300 rooms across the luxury to economy segments. The Group’s regional network also includes 80 hotels under development, bringing close to 24,000 additional rooms to the Middle East. - TradeArabia News Service
