ITW Abu Dhabi celebrates World Tourism Day

ABU DHABI, September 27, 2016

 (ITW Abu Dhabi), a global platform addressing key tourism niche markets such as Halal, medical, shopping and family-friendly sector, joins the world to celebrate World Tourism Day today.

ITW Abu Dhabi addresses global challenges outlined in the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and highlights the contribution the tourism sector can make in reaching these goals.

Speaking about the support on the annual celebration, Andy Buchanan, executive organising committee director of ITW Abu Dhabi, said: “This year’s theme of WTD is about the creation of environments that can cater for the needs of all of us and I feel that the team behind ITW Abu Dhabi share the same values in providing a global platform for tourism leaders and players to meet and create synergies.”

Taking place from November 25 to 28, 2017, at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, ITW Abu Dhabi will aim to attract more than 6,000 global travel professionals from different parts of the world and deliver a comprehensive programme which will combine targeted meetings with first-class networking opportunities, inspiring knowledge-bound seminars and innovative experiences, culminating in a glittering gala awards evening to celebrate outstanding achievements across the international niche tourism landscape.

ITW Abu Dhabi is a four-day summit that from the same venue plays host to six distinct travel and tourism elements simultaneously. The combined events which include the fastest growing sectors within the global tourism economy, foremost of which is Halal Tourism. In addition to the World Halal Tourism Summit, other scheduled events include the World Halal Tourism Awards and other summits such as: World Medical Tourism Summit, World Shopping Tourism Summit, Ministerial Forum and Family Vacation Show.

Confirmed participation for the ITW Abu Dhabi 2017, stretching across multiple spectrums, hail from a diverse spread of key players including Accor Hotels, Bangladesh Tourism Board, Dinar Standard, Etihad Airways, HCA Healthcare, Holiday Bosnia, Jannah Hotels, Marjan Island Resort & Spa, and Sofyan Hospitality, among others. - TradeArabia News Service
