Emirates flight makes emergency landing in Mumbai

MUMBAI, July 26, 2016

An Emirates flight bound to Maldives from Dubai was forced to make an emergency landing in Mumbai, India, on Tuesday afternoon after smoke was detected in the cockpit and cabin, said a report.

The airline was carrying more than 300 people on board, said a report in NDTV.

All passengers and crew were evacuated immediately after landing and reported to be safe.

The Mumbai coastguard also had ships on stand-by at sea after the pilot sent an SOS to Air Traffic Controllers.
