Alpha operates 7,000 helicopter trips annually

UAE-based Alpha Destination Management, a leading destination management company in the GCC, has recorded robust growth in its helicopter service, operating as many as 7,000 trips annually in the country.
Alpha Destination Management in partnership with premium aviation service provider Falcon Aviation Services (FAS) and Atlantis The Palm, is offering private luxury helicopter services catering to the corporate and tourism market in the Middle East.
Ghassan Aridi, CEO, Alpha Destination Management mentioned that his company has carried 30,000 passengers to become one the busiest airstrips for helicopter outside North and South America.
Aridi noted that they are targeting the upscale tourism market as well as corporate clientele in the UAE.
"The boom in the tourism and other business sectors in the UAE have created a niche market for private luxury services. This service has added value to the packages we provide. We have customised several solutions that cater to the needs of our clientele namely tourists, businessmen and families," he added.
He disclosed that the company is receiving a remarkable feedback after launching the services since 2007. Aridi commented that after clinching the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) certification, they are keen to expand their footprint across the other parts of the Emirates in order to connect more points.
"The Atlantis Hotel has developed the airstrip to accommodate 4 planes at the same time each one carries six passengers for a daily trip to see the most important attractions such as Burj Khalifa, the iconic Burj Al Arab, JBR, Dubai Marina, Dubai Creek, Jumeirah lakes and other scenic landmarks of the city of wonders,” he said.
He mentioned that the duration of one trip is 15 minutes and the other is 25 minutes, adding that these trips have further strengthened the travel and tourism sector of the UAE.
