Faithful+Gould unveils key theme park projects

DUBAI, April 19, 2016

Faithful+Gould, an integrated project and programme management consultancy, and its partner The Nassal Company, a leading global theming fabrication and attractions construction management firm, are jointly showcasing some of their upcoming theme park projects at the Dubai Entertainment Amusement & Leisure Show (Deal) 2016.

The leading amusement industry show in the Middle East opened its doors today (April 19) at the Dubai World Trade Centre and will be running for the next two days.

Faithful+Gould said it had last year entered into a collaboration with Nassal’s Attractions Construction Management (ACM) division to support clients in the development and construction of themed entertainment projects around the world.

With this partnership, the duo has become a global expert in delivering project management solutions for the theme park, leisure and entertainment industry.

It is currently working on a number of signature projects including Doha Oasis, a 440,000-sq-m mixed-use development in Qatar; La Mer, a 9.5 million-sq-ft mixed-use development in Dubai; and London Paramount, a key theme park and entertainment precinct to come up on a 8.7-million-sq-m area in Kent, UK.

The theme/leisure industry is currently undergoing strong global growth; PwC forecasts the international amusement and theme park sector will generate almost $32 billion in revenues by 2017.

Leisure and entertainment parks in the Middle East are expected to account for much of this growth, with Dubai’s theme parks projected to generate $5 billion in revenue by 2020, attracting larger numbers of tourists into the city and country, said experts.

Campbell Gray, the managing director of Faithful+Gould, Middle East said: "We have been privileged to work on some of the most high profile and exciting theme park and entertainment projects in the region including Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, Wild Wadi Water Park in Dubai, Doha Festival City, Qatar and Motion Gate and Bollywood in Dubai."

"Our proven track record in the leisure industry for ensuring our clients’ requirements are met, in respect of aesthetics, quality, cost, time and safety is further strengthened through our partnership with Nassal, where we are the only team with the expertise to deliver an end-to-end service. We are looking forward to telling our story during the Deal show to potential clients and partners," he added.

William Nassal, the partner of The Nassal Company, pointed out that leisure, entertainment and theme parks are a mammoth industry rife with opportunities.

"The size, complexity and time scales for these leisure projects mean we can add value from the outset by applying rigour and high standards to all aspects of the construction programme," he noted.

According to him, the global industry’s growth has been staggering with revenue expected to reach 32 billion by 2017 and this is expected to carry through well beyond Expo 2020 and other world-class events in the region scheduled to be held in line with leadership of these various world-class cities.

"This is supported by the existing infrastructure and we are here to offer our expertise and our knowledge in delivering complete solutions for entertainment and leisure projects from pre-concept to post-implementation," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
