The Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel Dubai will be joining other Dubai participants at ITB Berlin, a leading travel trade show taking place in Germany next month, in a major marketing push in the North and East European region.

Taking place from March 9 to 13, ITB Belin celebrates 50 years this year. It will host around 10,000 exhibitors from more than 180 countries spread over 26 halls, with an expected total of more than 175,000 visitors – of which more than 100,000 are key travel trade contacts from Europe and often farther afield, according to Jane Frazer, director of sales and marketing at the Park Regis Kris Kin who will spearhead the hotel’s sales campaign.

Dubai recorded 14.2 million visitors in 2015, an increase of 7.5 per cent over the previous year, but within those figures, there was a drop in both the key German and Russian markets.

Frazer said: “Both these countries remain in the top 10 source markets for Dubai, and we are seeking more opportunities in areas such as Eastern Europe as air links increase and visa procedures are simplified – which means it is as important as ever to cement contacts and contracts with the major tour operators and destination management companies who are at ITB Berlin to seek out new opportunities.”

In addition, she said there was enormous potential to further develop the stopover market in Dubai as Emirates continued its worldwide growth, offering travellers the chance to enjoy a few days in the city in transit to their final destination.
