Travel smart...samsonite tips

Travel without a hassle this holiday season

DUBAI, December 15, 2015

Travelling about, whether vacations or business trips, always involves a bit of procedure: from packing to sorting out paperwork. Samsonite, a leading luggage manufacturer and retailer, has listed out tips to help ‘travel without a hassle’.

Appropriate baggage: Pick out a bag best suited for the journey and one that is in a fairly a bright colour as it would be easy to spot on the conveyor belts.

The Essentials: Make sure to carry a carry-on bag, wallets with cash saved in different places, credit and debit cards, and travelers’ cheque. Also ensure to have the cell phone, tablets and laptop on your person. Also carry a good neck pillow, some zip lock bags, and lots of loose change that can be put to use when you need it most.

Dressing Right: Wear clothes that are comfortable and not restricting. Carry a light jacket or a light shawl for when it gets too cold in the aircraft. Wear slip on shoes rather than those with laces, so that it’s easy to take them off and wear them on easily at the security check.

Eating and Drinking: Eat light before a flight and always ensure to keep oneself hydrated, because a pressured cabin can get demanding on the body. Carry a few mints and some candy to avoid the annoying ear blocks from a pressured cabin!

The Hygiene Factor: Carrying tissues, hand towels and a small bottle of hand-sanitizer is a useful way to get around in airports. For those carrying medication that is not the over-the-counter regular kind, ensure to have a prescription to authenticate medical needs.

DON’T carry: Don't carry nail cutters, scissors, knives, weapons, umbrellas, deodorant bottles, creams and lotions, and sharp objects in cabin baggage as these are not allowed on board.

Overall, dress right, carry light and have a good holiday.-TradeArabia News Service
