Ammroc seals key commercial MRO contracts
ABU DHABI, May 23, 2015
Abu Dhabi-based Advanced Military Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Center (Ammroc) has signed commercial maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) contracts with Etihad Flight College, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Etihad Airways, and Horizon International Flight Academy (Horizon), both based in Al Ain.
The contracts are valued collectively at more than Dh36 million ($9.8 million), and both are being serviced under Ammroc’s Car-145 license granted by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the UAE.
Already the pre-eminent military MRO services provider, Ammroc is complementing its core military business by signing these two one-year contracts with Etihad Flight College focused on servicing fixed wing aircraft, and a similar arrangement with Horizon, to service its Al Ain based helicopter fleet, said a senior official.
"Ammroc has always invested in the future growth of the aerospace industry in the UAE. Growing our business in Al Ain is a long-term strategic goal, and through these contracts with Etihad Flight College and Horizon we continue to demonstrate the ever-expanding range of MRO services available to the UAE and the broader Mena and South Asia region," he added.
The new commercial contracts supplement the vast number of military contracts that Ammroc currently has in place in the UAE and across the region.
Al Ain remains an area of geographic focus for Ammroc as they are developing a state-of-the-art sustainment center of excellence within the Nibras Al Ain Aerospace Park, located at the Al Ain International Airport.
This center will offer innovative maintenance solutions, performance-based reliability, all life cycle management, and affordability from one location.-TradeArabia News Service
